Pineapples are delicious!

But did you know this tropical fruit is loaded with health-boosting compounds?   we’ll be talking about the impressive health benefits of pineapple.

  • Do they help your body fight diseases?
  • Can they really prevent cancer?
  • Can it provide relief from arthritis?

  1. Helps fight diseases Pineapples are packed with antioxidants.

This delicious fruit is rich in flavonoids and phenolic acids. And why should you be excited about them? Flavonoids protect your body against stressors and everyday toxins. They ensure your body is functioning at its best. Your body absorbs phenolic acids through intestinal walls. They reduce inflammation in your body. This means no chronic aches and pains! Isn’t that wonderful? Antioxidants present in pineapple fight against chronic inflammation.  As a result, your immunity is stronger. You won’t get sick as easily. Antioxidants are also responsible for the anti-aging effect.

So if you want to remain young and radiant, make sure you eat foods rich in antioxidants.  You’ll also get stronger immunity! Another benefit of eating pineapples is the antioxidant-effect.  Antioxidants found in pineapples are capable of surviving tough conditions.  This means they will stay in your body longer.

  • Do you eat a lot of antioxidant-rich foods?
  • Are you into blueberries and pineapples?

  1. Great for digestion freshly cut pineapple is delicious on its own

Just sprinkle a pinch of black salt over it and enjoy it as a dessert. You can also barbecue pineapple slices. They taste too good.  Serve them along with barbecued cottage cheese and bell pepper. Your guests will be in awe! Whatever you do, just make sure you eat pineapple whenever you get a chance.  Why? Because this refreshing fruit is great for your stomach troubles. Pineapples contain bromeliad, which boosts your digestion. Brome laid helps break down protein into smaller compounds.  This is an advantage, because your small intestine digests smaller compounds easier. In case your pancreas is unable to produce enough digestive enzymes, eating pineapple daily is helpful.  That’s not us saying that.  Science backs this claim with evidence. A study showed that patients with pancreatic problems had better digestion when they took a supplement with bromelain.

  1. Reduces the risk of cancer Pineapples are loaded.

These antioxidants are particularly helpful in reducing your risk of cancer. How do they do that? Antioxidants reduce oxidative stress in your body.  Oxidative stress is the damage caused to your cells by pollution, the process of aging, and even the sun! When oxidative stress in your body is stopped, your inflammation goes down. Bromelain is once again the key enzyme here.  Studies have shown that bromeliad helped in killing off breast cancer cells.  It even stopped the growth of breast cancer tumors. Various other test-tube studies have shown that bromeliad is also able to put an end to cancer cells in your colon and skin. Still in doubt over the power of pineapples?  Research on bromeliad has shown that it strengthens your body’s immune system.  Brome lay produces more powerful white blood cells to fight off cancer cells.

    4. Eases symptoms of arthritis Arthritis can be a very challenging illness.

It severely impacts your overall quality of life.  While it usually happens during older age, younger people can also get it.  It’s basically inflammation in the joints that makes it uneasy for you to move and work. Pineapples help relieve inflammation of your joints and bones. But what exactly does science say about this? Many studies have shown bromeliad to be very effective for rheumatoid arthritis.  Recent research proves that taking bromeliad supplements every day significantly reduces pain and discomfort among patients. It’s shown to have the same effects as some medicine. For those suffering from osteoarthritis, bromeliad can relieve your pain in the short term. Eat pineapple daily. If it gets boring, switch things up by adding other fruits to make a salad.  Drizzle organic unheated honey on it.  You can also make fruit parfait using a generous amount of yogurt. But of course, make sure you’re adding pineapple pieces to it. Pineapple smoothie aren’t a bad idea either. It’s delicious! Before we move ahead, here’s another video you might like. 5. Boosts immunity and reduces inflammation

is bromeliad all pineapple has to offer? The answer is NO! Pineapples are loaded with several vitamins and minerals.  All of them positively impact your metabolism and immunity.  These nutrients also ensure your chances of inflammation are vastly reduced. Experts have found eating pineapples boosts white blood cell production in your body. A study among children showed that those who ate lots of pineapples had four times the white blood cells of those who didn’t. And do I need to mention how white blood cells fight off infections? Another study proved children who took bromeliad supplements recovered from sinus infections faster than those who didn’t. Research also points to the evidence that bromeliad reduces inflammation.

    6. Helps You Recover after Exercise and Surgery Looking

To make a fast recovery post-op?  Or are you a dedicated gym enthusiast who can’t survive a day without a good pump? Whatever the case is, we recommend you eat lots of pineapples. They’re awesome for quick recovery of sore muscles. Pineapples are especially good for those recovering from surgery.  This is where bromeliad steps in. Studies have shown that it reduces post-surgery inflammation.  One particular study focused on people who underwent dental surgery. Those who took bromeliad had reduced discomfort, in comparison to patients who didn’t.  Pineapple also lessened the pain for them, resulting in patients being happier after surgery. Bromelain has shown the same power as regular medicines used to treat inflammation.  That’s promising. I don’t know about you but I’m definitely eating more pineapple every day. You don’t need to undergo surgery to enjoy pineapples. They are low-calorie fruits known to help with weight loss. 100 grams of freshly cut pineapple gives you just 50 calories. This is why it makes an excellent recovery food post-exercise.

People who do strenuous exercises have a higher risk of damaging their muscle tissues.  This can result in inflammation around the affected area. But when you eat pineapple, you get chock full of bromeliad. This magic enzyme soothes your muscles, reduces inflammation, and provides you relief from soreness. Thanks to bromeliad, you won’t feel sore three days after your leg or arm workout! Experts have found truth in this.  Research has proven bromeliad increases endurance and stamina. Participants who took bromeliad were able to maintain their strength even after being on the treadmill for 45 minutes straight.

7. Full of nutrients without an ounce of guilt,

you can enjoy this delicious fruit in moderate amounts.  We say moderate because pineapple can be a bit hard on your mouth. You see bromeliad that digests protein. When you eat a lot of it, it digests protein from your mouth cavity as well! Besides bromeliad, you get a generous supply of Vitamin C, manganese and protein. Then there is loads of fiber. This refreshing fruit also has small traces of Vitamins A and K, as well as zinc and calcium. You also get vitamin B6, thiamine, copper and folate. Vitamin C helps strengthen your immune system. Your body depends on vitamin C to absorb iron from the food you eat. Similarly, manganese is vital for the growth of your body.  It helps increase metabolism and improve digestion.

8. Easy to add to your diet unlike other seasonal fruits

pineapples are easily available all year round.  Ideally, it should be eaten fresh, but I understand what a task it is to cut a pineapple!  You can opt for canned pineapple as well.  Just make sure to read the label thoroughly. Pineapple pizza may, or may not be your thing, but pineapple chicken is really good.

You can also top your oatmeal bowl with pineapple and frozen berries.  Or blend pineapple, strawberries, and yogurt together to make a delicious breakfast smoothie. My favorite way to eat pineapple is to sauté it with bell peppers.

Throw in cherry tomatoes and serve with feta cheese! Amazing! Pineapple is just one fruit, but it has so many benefits. Imagine how great it would be if you ate a bowl of fruit salad every day. Did you know not every fruit is as nutrient-rich? There are fruits you should be eating and ones you shouldn’t.

Some fruits can even double as medicine
